EXEDY Acquires Shares in Kawamata Seiki Co., Ltd. (Toshiba Group)

In August 2024, we acquired a portion of the shares of Kawamata Seiki Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kawamata Town, Date District, Fukushima Prefecture; Representative: Masayuki Tachino, hereinafter referred to as “Kawamata Seiki”).

Our company has been working on the development of products for electric mobility in addition to our existing products, such as manual clutches. Kawamata Seiki consistently handles everything from development, design, and manufacturing to sales and inspection/repair services for various motors and related equipment, including industrial motors and xEV motors.

With this share acquisition, both companies will maintain their relationship with the Toshiba Group and leverage their combined technology and experience to accelerate the development of motors for medium and large commercial vehicles, industrial vehicles, and construction machinery. Through the promotion of electric mobility, we aim to contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality.
